Two days all it took for one couple to buy new home

Sydney's real estate market moves quickly, but one couple fell in love with their home so fast they bought it just two days after making their first inquiry.

After contacting the real estate on Thursday and inspecting the home on Friday, the couple from Wollstonecraft attended the auction of 69 Macpherson St, Mosman, on Saturday.

Out of the crowd of 50 people, they outbid the six other registered bidders to claim the renovated three-bedroom Federation semi.

The reserve was set at $1.38 million and bidding opened at $1.2 million before it eventually sold for $1.58 million, $200,000 over the reserve.

"Even in a very strong market this was an exceptional result and underlines the popularity of the North Mosman and North Cremorne areas," Belle Property Neutral Bay co-Principal and selling agent Matthew Smythe said.
